Haitian Relief

Offer an Olive Branch

Hi everyone,

My usual post is going to be a couple of days late due to a few things that have come up. Sorry about that. Instead I have posted more info on the Haitian relief effort. If you are in the position, I do hope you will lend a hand. The situation is still desperate.

American Red Cross

Yele

UNICEF

Doctors Without Borders

The White House

Also, fellow Mutineer, Beer Editor Brian Kropf (who is also in the Army) is on the ground in Haiti delivering aid and updating us on the situation when possible through Twitter.

So good of you to supply those links.

We gave to Doctors without Borders. It’s been a long-time choice since they do such good and effective work in many corners of the world.

Oxfam is also a charity we trust and has a four-star rating on Charity Navigator. That’s better than the Red Cross or Yele. But, of course, everyone will make their own choices for their own reasons. The important thing is to help where it’s so desperately needed and hope that some enduring good will emerge from the tragedy.

We also gave to Doctors without Borders and the Red Cross – the Canadian government is matching all donations. The need is so great I join you in encouraging everyone to give what they can – every little bit counts.
